Violeta Chang is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, and part of the organizing committee of ChileWIC (Women in Computing in Chile). Violeta obtained a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Chile and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Laboratory of Scientific Images Analysis (SCIAN-Lab) of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Chile. With experience in teaching and researching in Image Processing and Machine Learning since 2001, her research is oriented to the biomedical field generating public gold-standard datasets and automatic methods for morphological analysis of human sperm and classification of HER2 breast cancer biopsies.
